We're due to hold our monthly lunch meeting at Fatboys in Docklands on Saturday 4th May, however I'll be away at the club's annual weekender, just outside Banbury. Whilst of course you're all welcome to meet up without me, can I suggest you consider a day trip to the weekender.
If you take the A41 to Aylesbury, the A413/A422 to Banbury via Buckingham and Brackley is a great ride. I'd suggest Sunday 5th is perhaps better for day trippers.

Full itinerary here
http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/showthread.php?t=46825

you can even pre-book a light lunch here
http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/showthread.php?t=46826

Hope to see some of you there, whether old faces or new ones.

I'd be up for a ride down to the weekender for the day (sat or sun depending on weather) if anyone wants to join?

If its any good, I'm heading down Saturday morning, hoping to get there for 10 to make the ride out, I'm staying Saturday night as I fancied a few beers afterwards.

If you fancy the Saturday trip up let me know.....maybe the time is possibly a tad early for you :D

Haha, well 8am on a Saturday is worlds apart from 7am on a Sunday in my book. :)

If all goes to plan this week I may be up for a ride down to the weekender. If it doesn't I could always take the ZX6-R...

I am hoping to be at the Bike Shed exhibition with the Chicken Shack M900, as Dutch the organiser has asked me to bring it along. Might only be in in the bike park mind, don't know yet. Only problem at the moment is it's reluctance to start after winter lay-up...

slob
20-04-2013, 11:41 AM
... but are you bringing it to the weekender on Sunday 5th to try and win a prize there?

Cutter

Good question. Unfortunately am committed to a non-bike activity for that weekend (hangs head in shame). Would rather have come to the weekender as have never been to one, but we are going away with another couple for a weekend in Wales. Bad planning but too late now. Plus I am going to struggle to get the bike running properly for the Bike Shed show, the 5th of May is even sooner!

I finally got it turning over on Sunday, but it was very erratic. I drained the float bolws on the Kehins and there seemed to be some very fine metallic particles in the fuel which is a bit worrying. I fitted a brand new Ducati fuel filter before the winter layup so not sure what's going on...

My plan is to get it insured and actually use it some more this year, but wasn't having much luck getting a modified bike insured last year. I've had to fit a new rectifier to my daily ride (KTM 950), and now Mrs Cutter 695, which just had a new battery after winter killed old one (wouldn't hold a charge off teh bike) seems to have a starter relay problem as well.... moan groan whinge etc etc...

Fatboy's is shut Bank Holiday weekend, so a trip to the countryside looks like a good alternative ;-)

The car park they are using is the Amnesty International car park on New Inn Yard, dead opposite King John Court. The event is in the arches or Shoreditch Studio's as they now call them.

I could be wrong but I think it's where that footballer hung himself a few years back after a last session at Chariots round the corner? Little ghoulish fact for you!

Ha ha, no sorry mate, didn't spot you. Did spot a couple of nice bikes though, drive nicely too. I was referring to being swamped on my little 125 ped by a phalanx of R1’s and R6’s doing warp speeds down Leman st. I'm normally quite libertarian about traffic regs but they were just taking the p!

haha no worries Dirty, I was buzzed by a group of gsxr tw@s myself, the archers are a photo hire studio now, never used them myself as I need a kitchen for my work. I can not get there tomorrow as I have family commitments.

Hey sorry delayed comment but was really nice to meet Rob, Sam and Ed at the Bike Shed Event. Elaine and I had a real blast over the weekend with lots of kind comments about the bike. I to meet some bike journalists I have read for decades who were really nice guys, as well as builders and bike techies from all over. One bloke called Guiseppe who does limited run carbon parts for NCR, Ducati Corse and Lamborghini! My mind was pretty blown, and then I got interviewed by Henry from The Bike Show on ITV4 which I am guessing will be on during TT week if its the usual deal.
Dutch and Vikki the organisers did a brilliant job. The cafe, bobber, flat tracker scene is just full of really nice creative supportive bikers. Bit like UKMOC in fact....
Anyway, Laine and I have a new project in the shed, a Little Moto Guzzi V50, so I need to fire up the Chicken Shack blog again and we need to get in that 'shack and start breaking things! Will keep you posted and will also try and get to a Fat Boys session soon.

Hi all

Yeah was an excellent day out. Really enjoyed the show and is always great to meet new and old faces.

Lots of excellent bikes there. Cutter I presume yours was the Monster displayed outside. I fell in love with it. Gave me lots of inspiration and ideas so I'll be blaming you when mine is in bits on the garage floor later this year!
