well it all looks pretty str84ward under there. bit of wire jiggery pokery aside. but what on earth happens with the seat lock cable? how does it reattach, just rout chopped cable elsewhere?

I had the same concern when I chopped the tail off mine. All I ended up doing was rerouting the metal 'noodle' that goes to the catch so instead of the cable coming from around the tail, it simply sits under the seat instead (comes in from the opposite direction).

If my instructions aren't easy to understand (likely!), let me know and I'll take a piccy and post it to you.

I got rid of it completely, then ground off the lock and bracket :D

afterall its not like the standard toolkit is 'desirable'

if I want the seat off I've got a loop of wire in my jacket pocket

Just you wait Crust - give it another oooh ten years or so & the standard tool kits will be changing hands on Ebay for three figure sums.....
