Saw that helmet in a shop the other day, one red, one blue'ish, in the flesh they have a sort of see through shimmer as the light catches the different angles, quite 80's neon techno cool.

I think Craft do one... looks the nuts!
I myself just saw the new Simpson Diamondback in purple and went donkingly jaw dropped!!
yum! not neat raw carbon but cool as!

I so regret selling my matt black one it was the coolest piece of kit I ever owned and I doubt il have £600 to spend on a lid in the near future...
There are some really fab carbon lids about nicer then that trust me!

I recently invested in a Bell S4R after 15 years of Arais and it's a revelation!

I wanted one of these when hein gericke had their sale a few months back, but they were all sold out in mediums. I went for something else in the end, but do like the carbon look :mand:

I have a HJC spare helmet, but need some new cheek inserts I think. Must get around to ordering some... :running:

Does look smart.

I'm not too clued up on that brand. I've had Arai for some years with a Simpson Super Bandit for riding my old LC, but have recently bought a Suomy Corse lid as it fitted well & I like a bit of a pose! 8)

Looked into carbon fibre a few years ago. Tried on a BMW sport helmet and it was unbelievably light. BMW seem to have stopped using CF and it seems like other maufacturers are going the same way and only using it in composite. Does that mean it's fallen out of fashion or was just too expensive to catch on ?

I've got one of them, superlight and comfy. It matched my metal flake IE, now clashes magnificently with my yellow carbie

I bought a Craft RXX Barracuda in 2006 that I've been pleased with. Trouble is I favour the Roof Boxer V8 (on my second one) since building the trike. The Simpson lids do look cool, but £600 is a lot to pay for something that doesn't have ACU/BSI approval, They are not road/bike legal in UK - car and race use only. This is a new road legal offering from Craft called the Predator, which I like a lot and costs less than £300

I've never seen the point of open face lids. My father in law won't ride in anything other, but I'd be very worried about my chin, etc in the event of an off.

Suomy Corse lid is really nice I have one. Its really light compared to my Simpsons.
I wear it lots now good all round vision.
How the ****ens does the visor come off please.

My monster face Simpson Streetfighter stylee is my fav but I need to buy a clear visor for it.
I keep getting home in winter too late and then can't see out of my black visor.

Giler that lids rather nice.. leather lined?
Aww Mrs Giler wouldn't begrudge you that would she???
Mind you I stupidly brought a diamondback as a gift for someone for a cool near £600 he sold it and pocketed the money.. I am such a thicko woman.
If I was your wife I would buy you it and hide it somewhere unexpected.. :)

I think with a set of goggles they look cool on the right bike.
I used to wear one black with stickers all over it and dark glasses back in the day.
But then I saw a accident... and quickly switched to full face.
Lucky I did cause the next off I had my chin hit the road.

I think they look great with a cafe bracer style bike.
Not so cool on a honda step through with bicycle clips and a top box.

I really wouldn't moan at a chap buying an expensive lid mainly because If I had the dosh I would buy another nomex simpson tomorrow and have it sprayed up.
My painted Simpson new would have been £800 .. its tatty now.
Id rather they had a good lid that did the job then a £30 ok lid.. and yes you can feel the difference!!!!
That Diamondback was heaven to put on craftmanship was dam good.. carbon & dupont was light as a feather!!!

I bought Clive a Craft RX10 I think it was in carbon, looked mean and moody etc. Unfortunately he was holding it by its strap which undid and dropped it on carpet and punched a dent in the side. We got onto Craft who didn't want to know. It makes you wonder what would have happened if he'd hit a car in it, we got an AGV to replace it, not quite as nice looking but hopefully a bit more tough. I don't like the idea of open face helmets, it's what happens if you hit the road face first, I've heard of people having their jaws ripped off eeeugh no thanks!
