Hi peeps,
I looks like I'm only going to get about 1400 miles out of the rear tyre on the S4rs  , which is currently using Bridgestone BT 014's. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the BT 021's or the Michelin road 2's.

Thanks in advance.
Bert

Never liked Bridgestones but have Michelins on my 1000 and they're ace. The 2CTs should give you better mileage

I have full confidence in my BT 14’s but their worn out and I was thinking of changing to Conti Sport Attack’s I don’t know if these will go farther than the Bridgestone’s but their 50 quid cheaper fitted.

Changed my BT014's (after about 5 pairs) for Conti attacks as I never fully trusted them in the damp. The Conti's give me much more confidence, and seem to be lasting longer too. I wouldn't change back now.

Metzlers are the way to go MEZ6 or MEZ4 or 3s

That will be great, I've got about 200 miles left on the rear.

Nessie had Dunlop 207s fitted when I got her, swapped for Pirelli Diablo Corsas, that lasted about 2500 miles (rear), then back to standard Diablos (about 5,000 miles from the rear), now onto Corsa IIIs :D Will let you know what they are like, as the bike hasn't moved since I got the new tyres fitted :(

My old Bandit had BT010s fitted, and they lasted well (about 6000 miles out of a rear tyre). Never had much problem adapting to Bridgestones or Diablos, didn't like the feel of the Dunlops (ok on my old prila, not on the Monster!).

Are they the same Michelins that are fitted to my forklifts?? The old solid tyre type ;) :chuckle:

BT45s used to last about 15,000 miles on my old Blandit.. Damn things!! :chuckle:

1400? or 14000 miles? If its 1400, I'd use a little less throttle....or stop doing burnouts!!

Anyone had any problems with grip on the michelin road 2's as I think I'm going to go for a pair?

I took Corse 3s off my track bike and put them on the S4Rs. Loads of grip and the wear is good too (standard Diablo in the middle see :)). And the tearing on the edge looks awesome on a road bike

Personally I find the Mitchelins have a slight edge in the wet, but there's nothing to choose between them in the dry. Except that there's less of a step on the edge on the Diablo, which gives more confidence on the limit.

Recently fitted 021s on my 900 and they are simply the best tyres I have ever used. No hint of letting go in the dry (all to the edge) and even in the wet seems stuck like glue. Unlike fast road/race tyres they do heat up nicely when dawdling and for normal riding. They don't disapoint when flying past everythign else either. Wear is excellent so far.

I'm just about to replace the B/S Battleax 020's for Conti Road Attacks.
I've never really felt all that confident with the Bridgestones, not a lot of feedback from them, so i'll have to see how the Conti's perform.
I'm also a fan of Metzlers, it was a toss-up between the Cont's or the MEZ4's.
It can be an expensive old game this tyre business, so i'll see how i get on with the Conti's and if i'm still not happy, then i'll put some ME's on.

Anyone tried the new Dunlop Roadsmart 3TC and how much fitted?

I'm using the Metzeler Sportec M3 on my S2R 800, imo leagues above than both the Diablo(regular, not corsa) and BT014's.
