Monster 750 2000
Finally after 3 months waiting on Adreani to supply the Misano Evo 2 kit to MH suspension I have them back fully serviced new bushes, seals etc , On the bike and wow immediate big improvement in handling, steering accuracy , and ride ,, I have a lot of experimenting to do with all the fully adjustable parameters ,,already reduced preload by one turn and only running 6/24 rebound and 8/24 clicks from minimum . Now the front end is as good as the Ohlins rear end . Bike is running pretty sweetly looks stunning ,,, might have a tiny flat spot at transition between 3000 -4000 rpm ??? Not sure could be paranoia or wind on my body LOL ...

May be time to order a set of new emulsion tubes and try them in the M750 and 750ss as on bike has 42k on the miles and the other 35k on mileage so the emulsion tubes might be worn ?????dunno

1991 750ss is running OK ish ,, its getting up to 120 mph quick and easy , and ticks over ok ish they are always lumpy below 2000rpm , but the plugs are sometimes black sooty and fouled when cold starting and cleaning them makes them work again ,, I think its valve guides as its not running that rich ???? may take the heads off and get Louighi moto to check them some time
I had to reduce the new clutch to only 6 friction plates from 7 to get decent clearance as it started dragging when warmed up ... It has minimum thickness steels but also now one less of them ...Still more testing needed gearbox on 750ss is very sweet smoother than the monster ...Handling is wonderful

My mate jules , Yamaha bolt 950 2014.. is a bit of a saga ,, originally came due to missfire in the rain ,, found one bad Coil , which was replaced with a Hendler coil from a parts supplier and new plugs and HT leads ... but the new coils blew the ECU ...
The ECU may have also had some water ingress a its very common on Yamaha looms ....but when the old coil died it killed it some more ,, repair cost of ECU £328 , new ones are £1400 from yamaha but none available anyway
ECU came back but I was suspicious of the aftermarket Hendler Coils which only measure 0.02ohms on primary where as genuine Yamaha coil measure 5ohms same as all my ducati coils do ....hmmm that may have also damaged the ECU so the Hendler coils are going back for a refund and we have ordered genuine Yamaha coils at £122 each from Yamaha but currently on back order none available anywhere ??? amazing a 2014 year Jap bike is so hard to get parts for ......

Loom has been checked for shorts , open circuits etc , and sealed with amalgy tape and we have new HT leads , plugs etc just waiting for the coil

Ninja 650 needs a service oil , filter and new chain and sprockets ,, will do that in July ...
I have the parts I need for the S4 but not sure when I will get to Thailand this year due to hospital and other issues

Oh i have also received a diagnosis of High function Autism ,, and not ADHD as initially thought which explains my eccentricities and issues since I was a kid ,, but at 67 i dont think I will make much difference but its comforting to finally understand why i am like I am . gives me some solid ground to stand on ....

Good to see there are still a few people left tinkering with and riding the older Ducatis.

Don't forget to post some photos..

I work in secondary mh and you'd be amazed at the amount of people getting diagnosed later in life - mind you the waiting time for assessment is 2+years so I wonder if many people give up.

One chap who was diagnosed at 30 swore blind that we had given it to him! His logic was before diagnosis he was fine and so we (The NHS) must have been to blame.

I have been doing some research

Poor running on 750ss and M750 might be the Air cut off valve diapragms in the side if the CV carbs as the air cut off valve acts as a metering valve between the Idle and main circuits , faliure can cause bad starting , and stuttering or poor running in mid range , and transitions ,, if the little diapragm in the side of the carbs is worn it wont vacuum correctly and so carb cant meter correctly ,, I have ordered 2 new air cut off diapragms £22 a pair to see if that helps the 750ss .. If it does I will do the M750 too although it runs Ok the carbs are 25 years old and everything else inside is new... Although I dont think it will cure the spark plug fouling ....

The M750 plugs are a lovely golden brown with a tiny bit of grey so perfect ignition burn ,not lean not rich wheras the 750ss plugs are sooty , greasy ,,, ???

For me its a relief to finally understand why for good and bad how I am ....

Went out for a ride on the Monster 750 last night to bike night at the Olde Swan and Radcot Oxen about 40miles round trip , thats near Henry Coles gaff good pub on the Thames , nice crowd ,

the new Adreani upgrades have really improved the front end handling , hardly any brake dive , cornering accuracy is better , traction and feel and grip all better ,,

I have it set with a little preload 1 turn out of 4 , 6 clicks of Compression out of 24 and 12 turns of rebound out of 24 , spring weight is 8.5nm and oil is Ohlins 7.5wt , I think the forks are still a little stiff as they are new and hopefully will get a little softer after a few hundred miles bedding in .the tie wraps are only going 75% down the forks .. i am amazed how much better the bike is ,, I wont make any more adjustments for a while .....
