New Mod, new Rocker.

Mine came from McGill Motorsports from memory
I've tried McGill, they only stock M10 standard pitch thread, not fine.

Probably available from Ducati? TBH I've not tried and I'm not desperate as mine are still OK but would like new as they're looking a bit shabby, would especially like the upgraded stainless/teflon that McGill sell which I have on gear shift linkages and the 916 ride height rod.

I've emailed TGA so will see if they have them.

louigimoto used to sell longer threaded rose joints, might be worth a quick shout?

Louigimoto does the extenders also but I've not managed to source the fine pitch.

McGill do M10 x 1.5 and M10 x 1.25 but not M10 x 1.0 which is what the adjustable rocker hoop has.

I did find some info on Ducati 851/888 site but not managed to source them yet; https://www.ducati851and888.net/for...on/technical-forum/2932-rose-joints-rear-hoop

As I said mine are OK but would like to pre-empt any future problems by having a pair 'in stock' if possible.

I imagine some over keen chappie in the race department thought it would be a good idea to be able to get 0.5mm increment adjustment?
It's only 0.625mm per half turn on a 1.25 thread and 0.75mm for M10 x 1.5.
I would be thinking in terms of sleeving the hoop somehow and converting it to 1.25 pitch.
Or even converting standard rod ends to 1mm pitch, but probably not so easy? (Read; even harder!)

BTW how long are your extenders as those I've fitted to my bike appear to be way too long at approx 30mm?

25mm, came from Louigimoto, M10x1.5mm threads male and female.

Quite likely, that 0.125mm matters you know ;)

Actually TGA say they do sell them but are out of stock at the moment so, we'll see but mine are fine for now so no converting anything for the time being. (y)

Thanks! Mine are plain and iirc came from Germany so I might switch to those
I had these on the standard hoop before getting the adjustable rocker and they gave me pretty much the same height as I have now so, worked well.

They are surplus to my requirements and so just sitting around in a box. If they're of use to you, you're welcome to them - just come over and pick them up when you're around.

Actually came across a 851 with an original Ducati corse rocker/hoop this evening, the owner had no idea.
Bit of an aside, but it was an 851 at Eddie's Leeds that got me back into bikes, after married life, and who was the mechanic test riding it.... one Paul Klakevizt (I know I've spelt that wrong)

Have taken off the standard rocker and weighed it (with bearings & sleeves) 1007gms. So swapping the rocker & hoop saves some 430gms about a pound in old money, most of which is unsprung weight I'm thinking?
Fitting isn't quite as straight forward as I was thinking, issues with getting the pivot bolt in and other minor issues.

Unsprung weight....... I'm never to sure where it extends to. Wheel for sure, how far along the swinging arm? The hoop is on the arm right? And the rocker pivot is sprung, but is the hoop end of the rocker? etc etc.

To update on this for anyone interested. I got in touch with TGA regarding the fine pitch (M10 x 1.0mm) rose joints as used on the Corse hoop and they say they can get them in but they are £99.00 each  so, whilst I was looking for new ones, I'll stick with the old ones for now as, although looking a bit tired they still work fine.

To put that in perspective, the top of the range 'Ultra High Performance' version in M10 x 1.5mm (for standard Monster hoop) from McGill Motorsport are £10.54 each.

So, when the time comes, sleeving the hoop might not be a bad idea...
