I emailed Quest yesterday, Nasher, and asked if they would be showing the highlights again this year.

I'll let you know when I hear something definite.

So it seems that Quest won't be showing the highlights this year but Channel 5 will. I've sent them an email for confirmation and to ask when the first highlights package will be broadcast.

Hmm? Despite this site saying Channel 5 would broadcast free-to-air highlights, https://www.sportingfree.com/motogp/motogp-tv-coverage-rights/ Channel 5 itself has said that this is not the case.

On another site, a report with today's date says that it's all still up in the air (a bit last minute, don't you think?).

"On the free-to-air highlights front, negotiations are believed to be ongoing between Dorna and prospective broadcasters as of writing.

https://motorsportbroadcasting.com/2021/03/18/scheduling-the-2021-f1-and-motogp-season-openers

So I guess it's just a case of "watch this space". I'll update this if I hear anything more.

Well, unfortunately, I've drawn a blank here. While some sources say the highlights will be on Quest and some say Channel 5, both channels have specifically told me that this is not the case. Another source mentioned ITV, which made me think ITV4 might carry the highlights but next week's TV schedules have now been published and there's no sign of any MotoGP anywhere.

I seem to remember that last year the highlights were only announced at the last minute, so perhaps the same will be true this year. We can only hope.

Moto GP broadcasting

I imagine some broadcasters will be a bit wary about what they get for their investment, advertisers likewise. From memory it ended up as 13 meetings last year against a planned 19/20 ( Finland wasn’t ever confirmed) this year it appears that Argentina and Texas have already been withdrawn.
Whatever, roll on Friday...for us lucky BT punters.....:booze:
Looking like a possible volte face from AD04.....perhaps Noale have at last produced something competitive....😳

Stop press!!

A change to the schedules for next week has just been announced - Monday 8pm - 9pm ITV4 MotoGP highlights :)

Just need to avoid Facebook and the entire internet for the weekend......NO SPOILERS PLEASE:chuckle:

That's great news Luddite, just have to avoid any spoilers now. :chuckle:

So good to see and hear the bikes on TV today. Had the afternoon off work so had it on for about 5 hours.

Really pleased that ITV4 have stepped in to show MotoGP this year. I've just watched the highlights and those Ducatis off the line wouldn't be out of place at Santa Pod!

Nice to see more time being given to the support races too, instead of the cursory 60 seconds they got in previous years.

Roll on next weekend!

Well done for keeping on this Luddite. As you say good coverage, although the music interludes were a little odd.

Watched it after the Gallagher highlights, so a good evening of telly all round.

No spoilers here but just make sure that, if you haven't seen today's race yet, tune in to the highlights tomorrow on ITV4 at 8pm.

Closest top 15 ever! :flag:

Now the racing get interesting MM is back for Portimao .... 40 points to catch up to the front, really looking forward to watching again

Moto 3 has been absolutely mental this year, poor old John McPhee, his luck has got change soon. I would rather have 45 mins of Moto 3 and 15 mins of highlights from the other classes!

Definitely! You can't pick highlights from Moto3 at the moment, it's so action-packed. You just have to watch the whole race.

Will he be immediately back to winning ways though?
