Monster Roadtest

This sector of the market seems to be the growth area as the ownership demographic ages and extreme nature of sportsbikes precludes the previous players. Price point will be significant factor , coupled with the spec of components. The Ducati badge will be a significant + especially if they continue their Moto GP and WSBk dominance. On our Bologna visit last year it was quite obvious that the Monster range was the sales “driver”…..the entrance vestibule being a large display area was dominated by Monsters.
I doubt we’ll see many new owners mixing it on here with the “clunkers”
BTW ,the pal of a pal up here just picked up an S4 , 16k mls and unmolested for £2.2k ….its a lovely thing. 😛

Wow,that was a good price for an S4!!

I can't make my mind up if I like this latest version of the Monster, for a start I am a big fan of the single sided swingarm and the trellis style frame,no wonder I ended up with an S4RS.Thing is,it keeps the Monster brand name alive and I feel that's a good thing. Also there are a lot of different naked street bikes available these days so I'm pleased Ducati still have a presence.

As for the clunkers,I have only met them once and they are a great group of blokes and if they want to do their own thing then that's fine by me.

Be well

Kimbo :)
