Wow! What a turn out and what a lovely day too.
We had 9 round our table for 8, but the staff quickly added another little table to the end to accommodate us.
We also all arrived on time and on bikes. An interesting spread of machinery too.
So I débuted my newly refreshed M900Sie and caught up with Sid en-route on his lovely 1976 T140V.
Unkle Duke was on his Harley Sportster. Martyn on his well travelled and venerable M21 outfit with box body (usually reserved for foul weather.)
Dacs on his old faithful M750ie. DaveR on his M1100S. Steve on his nice yellow 821. My BIL on his Triumph 695 (2025 model I think?) and last but by no means least, a nice surprise to see Grumpy again and on a new MV Augusta Dragster.
The food, reception and service was excellent in The Dove. I think everyone enjoyed their breakfasts. I have to thank Grumpy for introducing me to Vanilla Latte which up until then I didn't know existed. It seems to be a very classy joint and we will return for sure.
It was an absolutely fabulous meeting with banter on all sorts of interesting topics as usual and a smashing ride down too.
Apologies for my abysmal photography skills.. And for missing Steve' 821, the Triumph 695 and Uncle Duke's Sportster... Not out quick enough!
Above; Martyn on his BSA M21 outfit.
Grumpy's MV Agusta Dragster. Striking styling! Designed by a chap from just outside Norwich apparently.
The remains of the line up. Front to back DaveR M1100S, Sid's Bonnie, my M900Sie, Martyn on M21, Dacs' M750ie and Grumpy's MV.
Interestingly we are parked on a remnant of the old Harleston-Bungay road, with The Dove sitting on the old roadside at the Alburgh junction.
You can see the old road disappearing off in the centre of the picture. The large red brick building is an old railway building, probably an engine shed?
The tarmac to the RH of the picture is a short new link to the present A143 which was built on the old railway line running just out of the picture.
A little further down the road towards Harleston are the remains of an old station platform still visible from the road..
Opposite us is the Homersfield junction where the road goes over the oldest concrete bridge in the UK.., So I'm told.
There you go, see how enrichened you become after a UKMOC meeting.
It was voted to go the Brown's at Mundford for the next meet on April 13th.
