Well the view from space reveals no fence or trees behind or near our pitch. Just a kerb at the end of the concrete and then grass
The NAAFI is quite close though so the building itself might present a possibility.
I will try and find some tent poles and guys, I think I could manage them on the back of the bike... Any other suggestions from the floor very welcome... :mand:

Guys, I think the best location for your large banner would be the mesh fencing located on the right of where everyone rides in and pays their admission. That would look very impressive as folk ride down towards the entrance.

There isn't anything suitable around where your stand will be located.
 
do you want me to see if DOC arch/gazebo available? maybe overkill?
you would need to collect/drop @silverstone and have small generator or 2x uk mains
 
Thanks Chris.. That sounds like the best idea. It will look good as the bikes come in.

Rob thanks for offering to arrange the blow up toys, but I think it will be problematic on several levels. Our pitch is concrete, so difficult to fasten the inflatables down, then there's the power supply and the transport issue, not sure if anyone wants two trips between Silverstone and East Kirkby? The arch would look good over the entrance though..

it is always possible if you ask me though.
i plan to use recovery time to improve ukmoc, this will include forum upgrade, simplified regions, greater integration with ducati/doc.
ultimately this might allow things like eg. weekend loan bike for ukmoc member visiting san francisco. but we need to be careful not to let ‘facebook eat forum’
i need to learn to manage more/work less. but i don’t want to be bossy to reps who are volunteers doing great job. please trust me guys and gals.

Good to meet up with (Capo) Stewart today at the Aviation Centre. The UKMOC gear is safely stored ready for next Saturday.

At least 4 of us will be at the site by about 9am to erect Capo's canopy and hang some banners about the place. If anyone else is willing to help, then you will be most welcome.

Still hoping for a nice big show of Monsters.. East Kirkby is about 20 miles inland of Skegness and so is an easy hit from a large chunk of England. This a great opportunity to see one of the nicest bike shows of the year and meet the friendly souls of UKMOC if you have not already done so. Guaranteed secure parking in a prime spot. (For your Monster) and all those lovely Italian bikes to see and hear, plus the Lancaster, Mosquito and the Aviation Museum.

Another shameless bump for this excellent event.

Some people are putting a big effort into making this a good show for UKMOC...All you have to do is turn up on a Monster.

I wonder if my cat herding skills will run to getting a club photo with all our bikes in front of the Lancaster?.. What do you reckon?

Sammy Miller’s events team have confirmed that they’re travelling up from Hampshire tomorrow. Together with a promising weather forecast for Saturday in Lincolnshire, everything’s looking good for a great event :thumbsup: ......

Evening Sun is drying the roads and it's looking good.

Heads up for any folk heading from the East...I think there's trouble on the A17 between Kings Lynn and Sutton Bridge.. (Not that I usually go that way.) I just can't get Google maps to show that stretch as a route even if I ask for directions from Lynn to Sutton Bridge, it just goes every which way!
Maybe just heavy traffic at this time of day or an accident or closure....Check before you travel..:mand:
 
Lynn to Wisbech (A47) and back up A1101 to Sutton Bridge according AA (I lived near Gedney for a few years)
 
Does anyone know if the flooding at Wainfleet & surrounding area has affected East Kirkby? Looked really bad on the TV local news.
