Afternoon all!

Apologies for not being around much (especially to you Gazza - my life got in the way of everything so haven't been online a lot).

I need to make space so I'm putting my 2000 Thundercat and 1988 Slingshot up for sale. Both of these are "work in progress", so will need to be trailered away. I thought I'd give you fine people first dibs before I put them out to the vultures on evilbay etc...

Yamaha Thundercat 600

Was my daily, currently at 86,600 miles (ex-riding instructors bike), but it pulled like a train and hauled my ass to silly speeds. I took it off the road a few years ago due to low rev issues with the carbs. Stripped them, cleaned them, rebuilt them but I think it has a vacuum leak somewhere as it holds the revs high and slowly drops back down.

Comes with a spare set of carbs, and an extra complete front brake system as the calipers seized, and it was cheaper (and easier) to buy a second hand set than faff around replacing seals and swearing at welded in brake pistons. Also a Givi rack and top box is included.

It's about 75% complete at the moment, but I have all the bits for it. The front indicators have been replaced with flush ones as someone got a bit too close to me in the car park and broke one of my indicator stems. Which was nice...😒

I love this little pocket rocket, I just don't have the space anymore so it also needs to go. They only made it for 2 years as it's essentially, a 400 engine in a 600 frame. Very low mileage for it's age at 31,000Km (19,200 miles) for a 38 year old bike. It developed a leak in the 4th carb bowl so I bought a replacement seal kit, but never found the time to fix it. It's also got a small leak from the sump plug. I've had it running but it's been sat in my garage for the past 4 years, I think I have a spare battery for it somewhere too.

So there you go folks. I don't want silly money for them but they will make someone very happy, please don't strip them for spares or turn them into rat rods, they are still very good bikes and deserve to be put back on the road. I just don't have the time for them anymore, which is a shame. As with the Cat, it's currently about 75% complete but I have all the bits required to make it complete.

Make me an offer and it'll be a good winter hack! Got all the paperwork with them, they're just SORN at the moment. I'm in Central Beds, about 10 mins away from the Stotfold Interchange on the A1(M).
