Hi all, especially Jerry, Mr Gazza, Dukedesmo, Gallardo and dacs, who all gave me great advice on my misfiring Monster 750ie. A recap, last year, my Monster developed a fault after 6 miles and at 168f, an horrendous misfire and wouldn't tick over? I thought I'd overdosed it with injector cleaner? However once cooled down, it would fire up to ride home. The main advice pointed to the CPS. I found a German site which sold the part correct part number for just over half the price of a Ducati one, it arrived and dimensions were exact. Once fitted, I started the bike, awful, struggled to tick over? I then checked new CPS resistance, 1200 ohms? A reply to my first thread advised it should be around 800 ohms. emailed the German supplier who sent me another free, checked the resistance and once again 1200 ohms, didn't try it, no point? Headed to Ducati Stoke and ordered the CPS from them, which took 5 weeks to get here. Checked the resistance 900 ohms, fitted it, started a treat and cover 30 miles, temp upto 180f, with no issues! The Monster lives again. Thanks to all who responded to my plea.

The one and two bolt sensors are different and can have different resistances, 1200 isn't necessarily wrong for either and 800 isn't as low as they can measure. It's all dependent on what's 'up circuit' in the ECU.

great ,, enjoy riding now ,,, many Ducatis use a PF09 TPS/CPS with 2 bolts like my S4 also used on many cars , fiats, citroens, Audis and other italian bikes
