I joined a while back, well a month ago.

Thought I would do as post.

First Monster 900ie 2002.
Not my first or only Ducati.

It had 8441 miles when I got it.
8997 now.

Went to the island for a very wet TT.

Issues are:
Fuel light stays on.
Sometimes it doesn’t turn over, sometimes the starter just turn and doesn’t stop. So a relay issue I reckon.
I struggle with the bars, can’t get a comfortable position.
Clock faces are cracked.

Love the engine, handling and brakes.

Welcome along Calum.Can't offer you any technical advice but if it's any help I had some bar risers fitted to my bike,about 28mm I seem to remember,and it made a big difference to the seating position.

Hi, if it helps I have a set of clocks off a 1000 classic sport (I think) with ok lenses, there's a scratch on the Speedo. If you're careful, lucky, handy etc you could split the cases and swap them over.Its not easy cos they are glued together. I can't remember what the problem was with them, seem to remember the tacho gave up?!

Hmm, they aren’t the same. The marelli internals are different from the digitek that @Bitza donated to the cause. I had hoped to transfer them over.

So sounds like you have managed to open up both cases? I was thinking that you could swap the tops (the bits with the bezels and lenses), or did you have a more elaborate plan? Like maybe swap the dial faces too? Getting the needles off isn't as easy as it looks as I remember.

Both sets opened up.
Everything is subtly different.
The Marelli’s you take the bit in the middle off with one screw and that exposes a T10 torx, which holds everything together.
On the Digitek’s if you remove the screw in the same place, there are another four screws that you can’t get to until you have everything apart. To do that, six screws hold the covers together, then four clips -one was broken, to get the face off.
There are two on the Marelli face.
So not interchangeable.
I think I can get the lenses out of the Digiteks and transplant to the Marellis.
I tried a board swap, but the bike wouldn’t play with the Digitek board.
The Marelli board needs drilling and some plastic surgery to fit the Digitek case. Not sure even if I do that it will fit as the depth is different too.
The Digiteks are nicer clocks.

I am coming up with a plan B.
