This years event is on Saturday August 12th at the Lincoln Aviation Centre at East Kirkby.
Chris has kindly reserved us, our now traditional area in front of the NAAFI. Straight in front of you when you ride through the gate.
This is always such a nice meet and has been well attended by UKMOC in the past. I hope you can make it as this will be pretty much the major national meet for the club this year.

Advance tickets are available here. https://www.ukbuellgroup.co.uk/453471939

I notice there is a concession for the extremely aged this year, so I'm looking forward to my discount. :chuckle:

Gary, many thanks for posting details of the event.

LAHC East Kirkby have confirmed today that Avro Lancaster 'Just Jane' will run her engines at 11am, 1.30pm and 4.00pm during taxi-run displays.

I'm surprised there hasn't been any response to this, it's only 2 weeks away.

It's usually a popular show with UKMOC and a nice opportunity to meet up.

I've bought my ticket, so let's start a list.

Mr Gazza.

Gary
I'm going to try and make this, sounds like fun. I'll drop you a line later and agree a place to meet up, then ride up together.
Dave

Nice one guys, I'm sure we'll get a good crowd if the weather doesn't let us down.

DaveR and I will be meeting for breakfast at 8.30am at Arbuckle's Café on the A10 at Downham Market, if anyone want to join us?
We'll then be riding up cross country without using the A16, A47 or A17.
Let me know if you want us to pick you up anywhere, say Spalding?

I got an advance ticket and saved a pound for being a senior.. :chuckle:
Not sure they will continue with that as I should think the demographic is about 60+ anyway?

Bring some change, I'll have a few bits of merchandise. :mand:

Well that was a grand day out.
Dacs joined DaveR and I for a hearty breakfast at Arbuckles.
We then rode up to East Kirkby navigating several diversions along the way but managed to meander there in the end.
Good to see DukeDesmo at the show, but no other members! Must have been the threat of rain?
To be fair it has been a blustery day, making the bumpy Fenland roads even more challenging. DaveR and I caught a cloud burst at Huberts Bridge on the way home, and I didn't find many dry roads after that although I did dodge any further rain.
Quite saddle-sore now after 240 bumpy miles.

We stopped for a photo op at a quirky place about half way between Nordelf and Outwell.
There are 4 bridges and one is an aqueduct taking Well Creek over Middle Level Main Drain.

Our Bikes on the southern bridge over Well Creek.

Best view I could get of the two drain levels and the aqueduct.

You can see what's going on better on Google Earth.

Thanks for a great day out riding guys.

Good day today Mr Gazza -
Breakfast first, mine's the red one

Then on to the site of Mr G's photo opportunity, above, and on via many of Lincolnshire's finest back roads courtesy many Road Closed diversions and so to East Kirkby and the Ducati corner

Note the special parking spot reserved for the Chairman :)

Thanks guys for a great trip out, I lost count of the number of U turns we had to make! 334 miles in total, going back via St Ives. I missed my son, they were still at Duxford watching Spitfires and Hurricanes flying. Good to know there's going to be another generation looking at old aircraft. I think I managed to find some even bumper roads between Whittlesey and Ramsey, not an area to get stranded in!
Just finished cleaning all the mud off the bike, it's red again. Fortunately the closer I got to home the dryer it got
See you again soon

Dave

Thank you to everyone who attended the event on Saturday. The forecasted afternoon thundery showers didn’t materialise and except for a shower around 4.00pm most of us managed to stay dry at East Kirkby. Given the rather soggy summer we’ve all experienced we consider ourselves lucky the event wasn’t badly affected by rain.
