We would like to invite UKMOC members to this year’s event on Saturday 13th August.

Please see event webpage: https://www.ukbuellgroup.co.uk/450376484

Online advance tickets go on sale over the Easter weekend, 15th to 18th April. The admission price will also be confirmed.

Having an advance ticket speeds up your entry to the event without the need for handling cash and the obvious delays this can cause during the peak arrival period. We realise not everyone can commit to buying an advance ticket, so you also have the option to pay cash on the gate.

Always on my Radar.
Its a nice event and on top of that the location falls quite handy for a widespread group of us to meet up.
The sight and sound of the Lancaster is awesome and very emotional.
And the back-country route from the midlands is an absolutely cracking ride.
It no longer clashes with the BSB round at Cadwell either .. (and I do fancy a nostalgic afternoon on the banking opposite the mountain again this year).
Dragging my thoughts back to East Kirkby, its a bit early to commit to the date and buy a ticket but its definitely going in the calendar.

This year will be the first one I'll miss in probably 5 years.
The Mrs and I are off to Sri Lanka one the day of the meet.

Just bought my ticket and hoping for a dry day, not too hot and not too windy!!.. :chuckle:

Hope to see the usual crew and some more maybe?

Head for our usual spot outside the NAAFI doors.

LAHC have confirmed that their Avro Lancaster NX611 will perform taxi-runs at 11:00, 13:30 and 16:00. Due to the high temperature forecast for Saturday NX611 may be returned to the hanger after each run to keep the temperature down inside this precious aircraft.

This means that the front of the hanger must be kept clear and consequently motorcycle parking won’t be in the usual place. We expect to be directed to park around the control tower area, but this won’t be confirmed until Saturday morning.

Update from LAHC 11-08-22 @ 16:30:

With the temperatures actually now higher for Saturday than originally forecast we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the Lancaster taxy runs. Having completed the taxy runs today we feel it is simply not wise to operate in any higher heat. I'm sorry that will no doubt come as a disappointment but the temperature on the aircraft today has been over 37 degrees even with keeping the aircraft in the hangar as much as possible and we must put the safety of the crew, customers and aircraft first.

Perfectly understandable. Not worth jeopardising an iconic aircraft for one day.

I will be there on my new Monster - looking forward to meeting everyone :-) Is the plan to meet at 10:00am (outside NAAFI)?

I'll be there by about 10am too and will head for the NAAFI after having a word with Chris.
Not sure what the layout will be now the plans for the Lancaster have changed, but I will try and blag a corner for us.

I won't be stopping long this time. Hoping to push off and be eating road air about midday to avoid the worst of the heat.

Well that turned into a smashing day despite the warmth. It was fairly bearable on the airfield with blobs of shade dotted around. The ride home was interesting though, my jacket felt like wearing an electric blanket!

It was great to catch up with Dukedesmo, Smiffyraf and to meet SuzyQ. The big surprise was bumping into Bitza just as I worked out it was his bike that I was looking at.

Chris did a fabulous job of steering the Monsters into the NAAFI corner and it stood out how well the organisation has evolved into such a smooth operation. A lovely laid back atmosphere throughout, complimented by excellent food and service in the NAAFI and a very good spread of interesting Italian machinery.

Dukedesmo's tank in the sun! I didn't realise until today that this is a standard Monster Metallic paint job. They came in Silver and Red too apparently.

Bitza's ever evolving Monster beside bike of the year 2017 and Dukedesmo's special.

Stand out special. We're on the trail of the full story on this one and it has club connections too. http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/showthread.php?t=60008

Wish I'd taken more pictures.

Yup it made a good trip out, well except for when you had to stop at traffic lights, cos I was getting boiled. Interesting collection of bikes, invoking some memories (never going to get bored of ogling Paul Klatkiewicz's 750 round case), but also nice to have a look at the new ones too to see what I'm missing.
Always nice to meet up with members in person. I guess that I should make a bit more effort, maybe the Manchester section's 1st of the month?!.
