Sump Plug Crush Washers
Wass goin' on!
Treid three Duke dealers for a sump plug crush washer and no buggers got any!! CMW came closest (fanx MM!) but not 100% it's the right one. Is there a world shortage? Ped

I've just had the same trouble and I ended up having to put the old one back on.
Shame I never thought to ring Spareshack last week! |

It makes you wonder if when you spend £400 on a service if they replace them.

Don't fret about it - you#ll only really need to change it if it's been under so much pressure that it'll crush no more, and usually the typre of pressure needed to do this will have either stripped the plug thread or cracked the sump...
Incidentally, as the crush washers are copper they (along with banjo washers) can be heated up wioth a blow torch till they're cherry red, and then re-used as this softens them a bit more so they'll crush a bit more. Doesn't really save any cash, but it'll help you out if you can't get hold of another washer. |

The crush washers are not copper - the ones I get rom CMW and Moto Rapido are aluminimum.
Tried annealing and re-using but they always leak. Best to change em.
