Question My Mate Opti

I got an Optimate today and connected it to the battery, it's reading that the battery is charging (orange light) but that's all it's done so far, I didn't even think my battery was so low it needed charging. I heard from somebody that sometimes the optimate needs re-setting but I can't remember when they said this needs doing, I'm sure they said once their charger was only showing an orange light when it shouldn't have been. Can anybody shead some light on the cause/problem
Many many and many more thanks indeed

It's still showing orange, it can't be right. It's going to be a trip back to the shop I think

Leave it on overnight before you rush back to the shops with it. If your battery is below par the Optimate will take a while to recover it as it's a specialised trickle charger not the usual sort bought to re-charge car batteries, etc...

Optimates charge at a very low level - 0.5 amps max I think. My battery is in good order but still doesn't show a green light until it's been on over night after not using the bike for a week.

Thanks

Thanks for the posts. Its showing green this morning, the battery must have been lower than I thought. Not having used an Optimate before only a conventional charger, I think I was expecting things to happen a lot quicker.
Thanks again :burnout:
