clear belt cover worries
Right, so I began the big clean up of my new baby. Initial wash and I noticed that there are watermarks on the inside of the clear belt cover thats fitted to the bike. Now water on the belt can't be good, but ingress into the engine would be terrible. Is the belt sealed off from the engine? Should I buy a new cover, can I just buy a new seal to go around the cover? What to do?

Nothing to worry about here, move along
Water on the belt shouldn't hurt it, some brave people run their bikes with no covers on at all. Wouldn't want to get a stone caught in it.
The engine is sealed, so water shouldn't be able to get into it from behind the belt covers. It would be more likely to pee oil out than let water in. The standard covers dont seal brilliantly, my carbon ones are at best a rough fit. Crust |
