Front Brake Disc Offset/Bolt Pattern
As I understand it, in the simplest of terms and ignoring some other detail:
Up to around the mid 2000s most Ducatis had front brake discs of 320mm OD, offset @9mm(depending on how you measure it) and 6 bolt mounting. ie my 2003 1000SS and 2004 M1000. After the mid 2000s most had 320mm OD, offset @15mm(depending on how you measure it) and 5 bolt mounting. ie my 2005 999. Now the point of my ramble above. Was there a bike fitted with a mid way disc? 320mm OD 15mm Offset But with a 6 Bolt mounting. Thanks

I think the 748R and 998R models had them, Probably exclusive to those models.

The Ducati part number appears to be 49240371a so I searched and turned up these and a few others.

Thanks Darren
From that starting point, and having found the Brembo part number, I've discovered that they are pretty much standard fitment on later larger Aprilia bikes, so I should be able to find a really cheap knackered pair to mock up what's in my head before committing any real money.

Glad my useless knowledge came in useful to someone. I did try to look for the Brembo part number for that reason but failed, Standard Aprillia stuff will be a load easier to get and cheaper than 998R parts for sure.
I actually thought they changed the disks to allow radial calipers but they don't appear to be, it was a SBK Homologation change, maybe for the forks? I dunno but I think someone on here has a 748R that can probably check measurements for you?

Öhlins forks to complement the rear shock perhaps, Simon?

Nope.
Not letting on until I know it works, and that will be a while as the 999 isn't finished yet because I've been out of action for a few weeks.

Intriguing!
Fancy wheels maybe?? By the way, what's the Brembo part no. for this? I was looking through my old Brembo catalogue and I couldn't find anything suitable. |

Yea, I did look for the Brembo part number for you when I found the Ducati one as I thought it would help with finding other makes etc but couldn't find one.

Mmm, maybe looking again that part number isn't that specific, and appears to relate to earlier bikes on other sites.
More research needed I think.

Yes, that particular disc (78B40870) has a 10mm offset and was what I considered fitting to my S2R before I decided on Galfers. This from the Carpimoto site (questions and answers) https://www.carpimoto.com/en-GB/4129...r-78B40870.htm "Question: Hello, I am wanting a 320mm brembo 6 hole disk with 64mm inner diameter as pictured in you your website with part number 78B40870. Can you tell me if this disk has 0mm offset ? This is what I need for my custom bike. Thank you. July / 25 / 2015 Answer: 78B40870 offset = 10mm" I think the 15mm offset discs are quite rare animals. |

I managed to pop a Bursa at the gym a few weeks ago, then spent that same afternoon carrying Concrete Fence posts about on my own and digging holes to repair storm damage. Because I was compensating for the Bursa pain I tore a hamstring, which is still really uncomfortable. Then Lady Nasher brought 'the Lurgy' home from school and I've been testing +ve for 11 days. Despite having all my jabs etc it's really taken it out of me. I manage to work from home until mid afternoon then collapse. Oh, and have had to cancel my first two Physio sessions for the Hamstring because they don't want me there - obviously. Dreaming up projects is keeping me going.
