Help !!! Engine locked solid
changed oil and filter last week, so know oil level, was and is ok.
Out riding today, 100 miles or so no problems, apart from the occasional cut out at tickover, cut out at a junction, hit starter, slight tick whirr, but not turning engine, tried turning engine over in fith, but no joy. whats the odd of a siezed engine, or a jammed starter. If its the starter, how do I get it out, as at the moment I don`t have a haynes manual. Cheers |

I take it that when you say turning the engine over in fifth you mean by putting it in fifth gear and moving the bike and thus attempting to turn the engine? Try it with the plugs out to lower the compression, and by shining a torch in the hole you should see if it is moving or not. If using the starter with the plugs out, make sure they are earthed so they can spark freely or you'll knacker the ignition modules.
