'Take it to the Limit'

Hi all,

There is an event being held at Ducati Manchester on Saturday July 22nd.

The Ducati roadshow is on site from 9am-5pm and from 5pm onwards Peter Starr will be giving a talk on his experience of surviving prostate cancer followed by a screening of his iconic movie 'Take it to the Limit'.

It promises to be an enjoyable evening to raise awareness, talk bikes and see Peters legendary film.

In addition it is hoped to raise funds in memory of Keith Ringle, a regular Ducati Manchester customer.

It'll be great to see some enthusiasts on the day!

Please see the press release below:

Take It To The Limit
Press Release

“The best motorcycle film ever made”, is what Mike Vaughan, Director of Marketing for Kawasaki Motorcycles, said when Take It To The Limit was first released in 1980, a statement he stands by to this day. The Hollywood Reporter, the epitome of film industry publications said " ...outstanding photography captures the challenge, excitement and beauty of motorcycle racing," two of the many accolades from around the world that greeted the showings of this iconic motorcycle movie

The film not only won multiple awards but also set a new standard for films of this genre by presenting some of the most exciting footage ever shot of some of the worlds greatest riders, in an era when film was the medium, and GoPro was not even a figment of someone’s wildest imagination.

Nowhere else could you:
* see 3 time World Champion Kenny Roberts win the 1975 Indy Mile on a TZ700 powered dirt tracker
• ride the wild 1/4 mile with Russ Collins on his 600 horsepower twin-engined Sorcerer
• travel with America’s first ever road racing World Champion Steve Baker as he challenges Two Time World Champion Barry Sheene in one of Europe’s greatest races
• ride the treacherous 37.75 mile Isle of Man circuit with 9 time World Champion Mike “The Bike” Hailwood at a blistering 190 mph.
• See Mike Bast win his second National Speedway Championship in a fast and furious battle with future World Champion Bruce Penhall.

Take it to the Limit presents “The World of Motorcycle Sport” at the limit, starring Kenny Roberts, Mike Hailwood, Barry Sheene, Steve Baker, Mick Andrews, Roger DeCoster, Marty Smith, Russ Collins, A.C. Bakken, Mike Bast, Bruce Penhall, Scott Autry, and a cast of thousands; supported by a Platinum Sound track of the leading hit music of that day by Foreigner, Jean Luc Ponty, Tangerine Dream, Arlo Guthrie and John McEuen.

Now, 36 years after its first cinema release and digitally remastered from the original negative, Alan Cathcart, the Dean of British MotoJournalists said “It is a “must see” memorial to one of motorcycle sports golden ages.”
Motorcycle author Hugo Wilson said "Take it to the Limit is a fantastic piece of motorcycling nostalgia which takes you back to the great races and great places of the seventies.”
St. Petersburg Times said: - "If you race motorcycles or envy those that do, Take it to the Limit ought not to be missed."

Now you have the opportunity that St. Petersburg Times, and all of the motorcycle press reviewers talked about. Take it to the Limit is being shown for one night only at:

Ducati Manchester, Dalton House , Washway Road, Sale . M33 7AR on July 22nd at 5:00 PM
