Thinking of selling my S2R 1000
As I approach retirement ,I am thinking of selling the Monster .
It's like new ,17000 miles ,full termi system and very responsive . Heated grips ,heavy battery/starter leads and new bigger Motobatt battery ,carbon tail piece and rearsets . Not in a hurry or even sure I want to sell it but I don't ride it if it's wet ,which is most of the time , I find it a bit brutal in its throttle response and suspect I don't think fast enough to do it justice . I would be looking for close to £4000 ,it cost me £4600 last year and is a lot better than when I got it cosmetically . Let me know what you chaps think . I will probably go back to a Guzzi ,I just like the big flywheel ,calms everything down nicely , Will post some pics later . |

You need to sit down with a wee dram and drink till you come to your senses..
How could you let a bike like that go??? Hide it behind some bales at the back of the barn. When you retire, pull it out, give it a good clean and live the dream again. You can pick the nice days then and enjoy something of quality. You'll miss it if you sell it now..

You know Garry, you might be right . One of the problems is the fekin 15mph speed limit at work ,Glenfiddich is a fairly big site and I just can't get it to run that slowly ,and under control ,the slightest bump and I'm rocketing forward then I shut off and it stands on its nose . I need a flywheel to steady things down .
I lost the plot slightly last week ,one of the goody goodies at work was over observing the speed limit and I was kangeroo'ing along behind him trying to keep behind him ,after a couple of minutes ,I lost it and opened the throttle a bit and passed him ,only the termis sounded like the end of the world to the driver as I passed and the front wheel was coming up a bit ,only a bit mind ! Had to make up an excuse about sticky throttle the following day when questioned about said indiscretion . |

I had a similar issue with my S4, it was very jerky and I had slammed my nuts into the tank when hitting bumps at slow speed, one too many times.
I fitted a lighter flywheel and that reduced the engine braking effect and had the DP fuel map adjusted and smoothed out from tick over to 3000rpm, it was pretty rough before. The engine spins up much faster, but it is so smooth and I've not had any more issues slamming into the tank. It goes like a rocketship!
