Nitron track shock opinions..

Hello,

I'm just wondering if anybody has had any experience with these on an 09 onwards Monster 1100, general thoughts and opinions?

No, but I do have a Nitron shock on my 750.
As far as I can tell, both the design and the manufacturing quality are very good.

I've had the Sport version on my 900 for a few years now and it still looks great.

I can't complain about it's performance either and with the compression and rebound being adjusted together on a pre-set ratio (just like the Maxton Shocks on my little race bike) it makes for a very simple adjustment process- not that I've needed to once it was set up. The ride quality and feeling from it was a massive improvement over the original shock on my 900 but appreciate it is a different animal to the later bikes.

I admit the track and Race shocks do look great (although apart from the separate damping circuits and remote reservoirs the actual shock is identical) it is worth bearing in mind that it is very possible to get the adjustments so far out that it can make the bike horrible at best and dangerous at worst. Having said that, the base settings from Nitron should be pretty near spot on.

Black Bob has one on his EVO.
Will probably be along soon with a review.

Cheers Flip, I'll be looking at the track so that I can have the separate damping circuits. I'll be setting the shock up myself I'm a crew chief on the weekends for one of the teams in the BSB paddock, so have a rough idea what I'm doing. Lol

So overall your really happy with it? Have you done any trackdays with it fitted?

I'm sure you'll have no trouble setting it up then.

Yes I am very happy with it overall- the quality is great as I'm sure Utopia will agree with (I chose the black spring option over the 'Nitron Blue').

As for track days, I've only ever done a handful on the Monster in the fourteen years I've owned it but it's been as good as I have needed- the Monster's not quite old enough to enter in the class I race in.....
