Smile Buell & European V-twin Festival, Saturday 16th July 2011.

Hi UKMOC members....

Details for this years big V-twin festival have now been finalised. Since 2006 we've had fantastic support for this event from the Ducati clubs and hope for the same this year.

UKBEG Emma Radford Buell & European V-twin Festival - Saturday 16th July 2011.

Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre
East Kirkby, near Spilsby
Lincolnshire
PE23 4DE
Web site: www.lincsaviation.co.uk

UK Buell Enthusiasts Group web site: www.ukbeg.com

This will be our 8th event at this location dedicated to the memory of one of our members, Emma Jane Radford, who passed away 22-04-04, aged just 26. We'll also be raising money for the Papworth Hospital Cystic Fibrosis unit which looked after Emma. Last year we raised over £600.00.

In addition to approx. 100 Buells, there'll be Italian bikes from Aprilia, Cagiva, Ducati, Morini and Moto Guzzi. British bikes will include Brough Superior, Hesketh and Vincent.

The event will include a Lancaster bomber taxi-run. If you like Rolls Royce V12 Merlin engines at full chat and red-blooded V-twin motorcycles, you'll really appreciate this event!

Provisional timetable:
10.30 am: Start time
1.00 pm: Avro Lancaster bomber taxi-run
3.00 pm: Avro Lancaster bomber taxi-run
Time TBC: RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Flypast

The admission charge is £7.00 per person – but girls on bikes get in free.

Note: if you're arriving in a group of two or more bikes would you please collect your entrance money together and hand it to a nominated person within your group before you arrive. This would help to speed up your entrance to the event and help us on the gate. Thank you!

The Aviation Centre has full catering facilities.

That's a dodgy one in this day and age, I think you will find that is illegal and against the sex discrimination law?

The event is in memory of a female biker, thats why they get in free.

Thanks for making that clear Capo.

Does say folks that it is for the said person below.

Emma Jane Radford, who passed away 22-04-04, aged just 26. We'll also be raising money for the Papworth Hospital Cystic Fibrosis unit which looked after Emma. Last year we raised over £600.00.
Im sure any of us decent girls ( cough well I try) would bung the entry fee we save in the charity bucket
.I am sure most would.

Seeing as thats part of my job to support children with disabilities such as this I for one would happily do that. I wouldn't expect to get a freebie just cause I am girly.

GT ... you have a reason to go ??? Im perplexed ... only joking coming along nice is that Buell

You could always dress up as dutch girls or milk maids if you want to get in free !!.. id pay an extra £7 just to see that!! only kidding..

During the 8 years we've been running this event nobody has ever questioned the fact that we offer free entry to lady riders and pillions - or called it 'sexist crap' ....

We see this event as a celebration of Emma's life and also the fact that she had the guts to ride her Buell even though she clearly wasn't very well.

I will do my best to be there.

For those that have never been, it's a fantastic day out, good food, friends, interesting place, and the sound of a bomber will blow you away.

Chris, I would like to make it clear that I don't have a problem with fact women get in free, I simply wanted to make you aware of the situation. I hope the day is a good one and raises lots of money for the cause.

I met Emma a few times on UKMOC rideouts and also attended the scattering of her ashes at Brands Hatch circuit. Emma was a real character and I feel very privileged to have known her. I could just have easily made this event previously on the monster, but now I have a Buell it seems more appropriate now.

It would be nice if everyone could put the negative gripes to one side and remember what this event actually about
