Saturday meet up, East London

Anyone up for meeting in Docklands, first Saturday in June (7th)?
Fatboy's Diner, Trinity Buoy Wharf, E14 0JW
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.sr...=newsearch.srf
(Turn off the roundabout onto the Lower Lea Crossing and immediately take the slip-road, turn right under the flyover and follow the road round to the gates at the end.)
It's close to the Blackwall Tunnel and not far enough into London that the traffic is too bad.
Meeting between 12:00 and 1:00 PM, maybe a rideout into Essex if the weather ain't too bad.

Will try to be at the diner around 11:30am so if the weather still looks ok we can set off at 13:00 and do a wee B-Road excursion into Essex, maybe catch an ice-cream at Finchingfield before heading back to the great metrollops.

Hi Slob. If the weather's good tomorrow, I might be up for a ride out to Finchingfield with you in the afternoon. I live in Theydon Bois, which is in between Loughton & Epping. What route out from Docklands are you planning? Could meet at High Beach or at the Wake Arms roundabout, or in Abridge.

I know some nice routes out to Finchingfield.

Anyone else like to join us?

Steve

tea huthttp://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.sr...=newsearch.srfon the way to High Beach, near the 'Robin Hood' roundabout, if you know where I mean, around 1330ish tommorow.

no worries Albie, I'll probably be carrying a pillion too.

Hi. My son was ill last night and I didn't get much sleep, but he seems much better this morning, so all being well I should be ok for later. I'll get to the tea hut for 1.30, I presume you meen the one 100 yards on the left after the Robin Hood roundabout. I'll be on the red 695. I'll pm slob my mobile no. Can you call me if you're delayed? What will you be riding?

That's the one, a piece of history, I've been going there on and off for 25 years.

A grand day out. Nice to meet Scott, as well as Albie and Caroline showing up with Diego, Headhunter and Yantheman. After lunch 5 bikes made a trip to Epping where we met LoughtonLion (Steve) and went out to Finchingfield. A little light rain but nothing too bad, followed by tea and cake instead of ice-cream. Stu65, sorry I didn't call, my phone battery decided to die when we got to Epping. I promise I'll charge it properly next time.
Thanks to Steve for bringing us back by the scenic route. We even met Stu Pid, former monster rider, out on his 1098. Thanks everyone, let's do it again first Saturday in July.

Great turn out and good to put some faces to names! Def up for 1st Sat in July - bit rude not to seeing as it's the day after independence day.

Thanks for a great couple of hours

Well we really enjoyed today as not a rush and an idyllic place to have a natter,a laugh and some great snacks on a saturday morning. I accidently ended up with a coffee over me and Caroline as I lent back a bit on a table bench on an incline a minute or so after Slob vacated it to get something. Out of balance and waheyyy but the chili chips survived. Yummy.

I took lots of photos of the area and we were fascinated with the history. Those who have never been check it out as its great views across the Thames.

Cheers Slob for tempting me and deffo the next saturday were coming.

We had a bimble home and a 17mile diversion from the direct route through the lanes.
Good to see 2 more new faces and also others that we know.

Really enjoyed this afternoon, thanks guys. Next time I'll take you on the senic route to Harlow to avoid Epping. I took a couple of pics at Finchingfield, but they're the same as Yan's, so I won't post them. On holiday for a couple of weeks now, but the 1st Sat in July is in the diary. Steve
