Fuel!! Pushing my luck.....

.....on leaving Whitby at the weekend rideout, I past the last petrol station on the way onto the moors but thought I had enough in to reach Guisborough....3 miles down the road the fuel light and indicator came on - should I turn round and fill up or - keep going said the voice on my shoulder.....23miles later, the bike stalled on the petrol station forecourt as I rolled up to the petrol pump......

Judged that just about right!

Regards,
Mark Nambduke

I had 67 miles from a full tank to reserve at the weekend, got to be some kind of record eh! Good job I didn't buy it to go touring on.

I now know that I get exactly 130 miles from a full tank and the reserve is 30 miles. Can't believe the lack of motorway petrol stations between Heston Services and Cheshire, went through two counties without any.

As a matter of interest, how much does it cost to fill up once the warning light comes on?

I decided to fill up on around 85 miles and I only had to put £11 in? I assume that the tank holds a good £16 worth of fuel so I should get a good 130 miles? I must ride like a tart!

I'll try the theory once I have checked that the warning light actually works!

So what is the reserve on a 600, I've only just got a fuel indicator light and I've filled up as soon as it's come on just in case it's not working.
