Nice one mate, you got the original "proper" monster. The ones with the real power, not like those aircooled lot. And you've got a single sided swingarm too. Very nice. Thats had some money spent on it then?! Enjoy (if we ever see decent weather again)!!

First 100 miles around horse shoe pass (in at the deep end for first ride out)
First impression was that it is not as quick as I had thought, soon realised that the fuel tank was nearly empty on the test ride which made the front wheel lift with no effort in 2nd & 3rd gears........does not do this with a full tank of fuel. Overall impression is it is actually better then I had anticipated. Over XXX mph neck became uncomfortable because of lack of nose fairing, so I think I will leave it off and keep my licence!!! Rear sets are a nice riding position but I wanted to stretch my legs after 1/2 hr. Will probably put a small drop plate from the frame to lower them slightly, don't want to take them off as they are a nice bit of kit. Need to change those belts and as it has covered 10k I had better check the valve clearances I have seen 2 Haynes manuals but they seem to change at 2001 (my bike) and none list 916 S4 version !!!!!! Anybody got any electronic service manuals / parts catalogues for 2001 916 S4 I could download ? Mike |
