DESPERATELY wanting a lift for the bike from London!!! Happy to contribute to cost of transport - can't get Thursday evening off from the family and don't want to have to ride both ways Friday plus the track day.

Friday
I rode to Mallory from Bristol on Sat for the BSB meeting.
I rode through Tetbury, Cirencester, Stow, Morton, the further I went the worse the it got, cars abandoned everywhere, fire engines pumping out houses & shops & all sorts of debris littering the roads, it looked like a war zone. I managed to get on the fosseway & got about half way, thats when things went really pear shaped, every road I went down was totally flooded, I ended up having to take about 6 detours (without a map!) I eventually got to Mallory Park, it took me 5 hours, normally it would be about a 2 & half hour ride. I came home on Sunday Via the M42 & M5, but that wasn't easy either, there was 2 seperate crashes on the M42 with horrendous tailbacks which meant miles of filtering between lanes. I was planning to ride up on Friday to say hello & take some photos, but they are forcasting more rain on Wed!! If I think the Fosseway is clear on Friday I will be there. Desmo. |

I'm meeting Benson on Thursday at 3.30 at South Mimms Services and then we are off to the Royal Arms, I haven't a clue where it is, but no doubt we'll find it!!! This rain can so* off tho, it's getting beyond a joke and is it only raining in England??

Most people are staying at the Royal Arms Fiona but it may well be booked up. Not sure where it is, close to Mallory though, may be worth phoning them?

I'm going up on Thursday and sleeping in the back of the van. Kitted out with camp bed and kettle and sleeping bag.

ok, so Royal Arms is full with a "waiting list" and the back of my bike does not have room for a kettle let alone a person, so any other suggestions ?

I stayed in a small B and B about 2-3 miles from the Royal Arms last year.
They were nice and friendly and had a barn to park the bike in - the room didn't have an en suite though. Tophouse Farm Shenton http://www.4hotels.co.uk/uk/nuneaton70711.html
