Wd40

Just read the thread above about lubricating the ignition key. The comment about WD40 got me a bit worried. If it’s a solvent is it alright to spray it all over the bike? I spray most of the metal parts with it and the electrical connections. Should I stop?

best thing to use for ignition key is 3 in 1 oil. WD40 is good, but don't use it on anything rubber...

Or the brakes

GT85 or WD40 is fine for body work and metal. Just to give it that little bit of extra protection against the nasty, metal eating road salt

Should be ok. WD40 is four parts solvent and one part light oil plus a little purfume, it will leave a slight oily residue which helps protect against rust, it's ok for use on connectors etc.
