600 monster belts

Hi guys
I need a bit of advice. On my monster 600, when does it need a belt change. I have been told every year, every 12,000 miles, every two years, every service. Does anyone actually know because got weekender coming up, bike has done 3,000 and belts were changed last April.

Cheers
Gully

service for your M600:

every year or 6000 miles - whichever comes first

belt service is every 2 years or 12,000 - whichever come first.

As your bike had a full belt service last April, you are due an annual (non belt) service this April.

Start saving for April 07

This ties in with the origional maintenance and waranty book for my M600, the books lists the following main points for each service,

Every 10,000km=6,000 miles or a year non belt service,
Replace oil and filter
Check valve clearances along with pretty much everything else on the bike etc..

Every 20,000km=12,000 miles belt serivce,
All the above plus,
Replace belts
Replace plugs
Replace brake and clutch oil
Replace front fork oil (i didn't know they recommended this)

Hope this helps,

Shandy
