Talking Sunday 29th May - The new official thread!

Here we go folks.......here's the details you've all been waiting for!

The plan is to meet up at 12:30, at a pub called The Bentley Brook Inn at Fenny Bentley in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. DE6 1LF
Link with map

Link to better map!

We'll be having lunch at 1:00 followed by a half hour ride into Matlock Bath.

The full Sunday lunch "with all the trimmings" is £8.
There's also vegetarian and vegan options.
They also do "Bar meals".

Because of the potential for a large group of us, I have to "book us in". I'll do that on Friday so that we can all check the weather forecast - I'd like to have a final list of "definates" by 6pm so that I can let the pub know how many of us to expect.

After lunch we've got a short ride to Matlock Bath.

For those that haven't been before - parking can be a bit difficult sometimes.
I think the best thing to do is adopt an "every man for himself" attitude and then meet up outside a shop called "Bikers Gear Box". The last time I went, we just about managed to park 5 bikes together - so you can see why it's unlikely that we'll be able to park 15 or 20 of us together!
Matlock only has 1 road - with the river on one side and shops etc on the other side, so it's hard to get lost!

It looks like being a great turn out - with people coming from far and wide!

Manky Monsters and other Northern peeps, are welcome to meet at my house for the ride down. Pm me for the address.
Me and Rabbit plan to set off at 9:45.
If anyone wants to meet us along the way then let me know.

For those of you who are coming from other areas -
If you want to ride to Ashbourne with people who are local(ish) then I think it's easier for people to arrange that themselves.

I like to be able to get in touch with people when I'm organising things, just in case someone gets lost/breaks down or is running late.

If you don't have my mobile number can you please pm me for it

If you've got any questions - just ask

Julie

a plan

I may be up for that run, depending on the weather and whether or not I can get my new forks, tyres and panties sorted? have "the old/odd married couple" that is Mr Hamster and Mr Dixon been notified?
Alex.

Mr Hamster has been informed but is unlikely to make unfortunately.....

....I forgot to pm his other half but consider it done

It'll be good to see you again if you can make it Alex. I don't need final numbers till Friday so hopefully that'll give you time to sort out your odds and ends!

I'm unfamiliar with meeting places in the Midlands I'm afraid. Your best bet is to post in the Liecs. thread and make arrangements through that.

Sorry I can't be of more help

You could try Scotty - he'll be coming down from Newcastle so he might go through Doncaster.
