Ohlins tend to use single lip seals with very little pressure against the stanchion to reduce stiction and give the best possible fork performance, other brands often use double lip seals and much more pressure against the stanchion.
A common swap for those having trouble with their Ohlins seals are GSXR fork seals I'm not certain I remember right but I seem to recall 04 GSXR 1000.

that was the old 43mm Ohlins on S4Rs & 1100s
the 1200 runs 48mm forks,
that said I’m sure with a bit of searching you’ll find double lipped seals to fit a 1200R or S (if not triple lipped like the ones in Darrens earlier link)

Get the forks replaced then immediately sell them as nearly new and get a nice set of k-techs setup for you…or an SF V4. Which ever

I really need to up my ‘buying too many bikes to use…especially Ducati’s’ game.

I will ask to keep the broken forks hehe.
Do not want to modify forks in R. It is a great bike bar the fork issue and if I can I will keep it stockish along SF v4 not sure if s or not lol.

So had new fork fitted (left one) and dealer did not check ABS cable routing after fitment.

Cable is gone.

Obviously I looked in to it now and can see that routing is rather specific or cable gets damaged.
Can someone send me a photo of their left fork leg showing ABS cable routing as now will check each time wheel comes off.

Also on the phone to that dealer again....
