M620ie Crank Position Sensor

Does anybody know the alternate part to replace the CPS on a 2004 M620ie other than buying and original Ducati Part. I am led to believe the same sensor is used by Fiat but need a part number if possible.

Rumours of my demise are greatly exaggerated.

I think the equivalent Fiat part is 46774532

https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/1145533086

Don't forget to check the air gap after fitting...

If the OE part is 55240201A then the new price is around £100

Here's a picture of the Ducati version for reference from

as i said it was a long time ago but i remember it as a superseal connector, also the spacers were a complete loop rather than a hook.
later *96/1100 models switched to a radial rather than axial sensor

Here's the entry from Stein Dinse and it looks like 55240201A is the correct part

I think most if not all issues with crank sensor would show up on DTC in Diag OBDC code/light. Its a puzzle for sure. Sounds like fuel mixture or ignition issue. No Lamda on 620ie right?

New CPS fitted no better so now looking at TPS, has anybody used any software to check position to allow setting. I believe it should be around 2deg with butterflies closed as a start. Any help appreciated.

Can anybody tell me if the M620 should have a Non Linear (adjustment slots) or Linear (just holes) as I have two and not sure if I have the right one as the throttle bodies have been changed. Throttle position reading going from 2.9deg to 75deg as soon as you touch the throttle and drowning the motor.

Thanks

These extracts from the 620 workshop manual may be useful if you haven't got them already.

Since the 06 manual refers to making manual adjustments it will be a non-linear TPS since linear don't require any manual adjustment. Not sure what would be on an 04 bike but the linear type didn't get used until the testastretta engine 4v bikes and later 2v after that. I'm not sure that clarifies completely but if they were still using non-linear on 06 bikes it would be likely that they did on 04 bikes too?

Thanks all, think I have sorted it now once I got JPDiag to talk to the bike, appears the throttle bodies fitted were from an 800 with linear TPS which confused the hell out of the ECU. Had a non linear in the workshop fitted that set to 2.9deg and ticks over lovely at 1200RPM smooth as a rug. Will take it out for a ride tomorrow and see how she goes.

Thanks again
