Basically Rexxer send over a code which allows access to the map within the chip. Then the map is customized to suit the requirements for the exhaust. In the process the running is smoothed out plus the boy is increased. The chip was 're mapped on my S4 about 10 years ago. As breaking into the map is easier on the older ecu's, the process is cheaper and quicker. A rolling road 're map is better than a generic as the map can be tweaked on an on going basis whilst using the bike running to achieve the results wanted. There are quite a few guys who can crack and time your ecu. Apart from DWR, BSD near Peterborough have a very good reputation. BED is where the guys from Ride, Bike etc go to have the test bikes from the manufacturers dyno'd.
