Latest mod

I've recently finished replacing the OEM headlight on my 1100s with an old style round one.
Like one or two other members I purchased the bracket and headlight from Motodemic in the states (bloody expensive) the bracket is a top quality bit of kit but the shell didn't look quite right and after fitting it I wasn't happy.
I then obtained complete round shell, purchased a Cibie sealed beam unit and one of our very own Mr Gazza's rings, I assembled the new configuration and I'm more than chuffed with the result.
Thanks to Gazza for producing the rings and so far those who have seen the mod have commented that it looks factory...

And I thought I was the Luddite!

Here you go.

The first shows the smaller Motodemic shell and the other two with the proper Monster shell - much better!

Great job, Geoff!

All you need now is a rabbit to test it on.

That looks just as it should. Nothing really beats the original Bocsh Monster headlamp on a Monster for looks and fit. Just a shame about the reflector and lens not being up to much.
You should have a good set up now though Geoff, with the Cibie H180 and adapter.
I still haven't tried my Cibie out in the dark yet!.. but it's dry and mild and I need to empty the tank.

Nice job Geoff.. Bike of the year just gets better..

You’ll never get it in the headlight, even with the bigger shell?

Oh and nice mod. the Darmah shell definitely fills the space better.

Yup, it looks the job in fact it's probably what I should do, (rusty shell & fogged up/crusty reflector). Thanks for the post and details, Bitza.

Yes, its great and looks like it should have done from the factory. I think its good that companies like MotoDemic do stuff like this for those ugly standard lamps on those later Monsters but why does it have to cost an arm and leg for just a few brackets?

It just seems like exploitation too me, not to mention the 20% VAT you will also get stung for.
