How much weight do worn tyres loose?

Hi All, Well this is a bit of a weird one, does anyone happen to have an idea of how much weight tyres loose when worn? I'll explain, just prior to a total revamp of my bike I weighed it, then changed to a heavier engine lump & rear wheel plus weight saving measures with the aim of ending up with the same weight machine, easy? but then I realised that I had started with totally knackered tyres and would end up with brand new ones, so I NEED some kind of guess to correct my estimation, and no messing around with your answers please, Bitza.

If you don't have your old tyres to weigh it's a bit awkward.
My best suggestion would be to go to your local motorcycle tyre depot with a spring balance and ask nicely if you could weigh some old and new tyres of the same make and size.
I doubt there will be a significant difference.

My rough guess would be about 0.5Kg per tyre comparing worn out and new, but better would be if someone can weigh some.

No idea but it would depend on the tyre, I seem to remember that Michelin made a lot of their Pilot Pures being about 1kg lighter than the equivalent Pirelli / Dunlops etc etc back in the day

Well Capo, slightly disturbing that you keep such records but great in the circumstances! Thanks Bitza
