So, all of these so called rider aids that allow you to push the envelope aren't really going to be worth sh!t when this comes into force? The opposite in fact as if given the choice then people won't want them on.

The industry has done a poor job of self regulation, top end model performance is obscene ... not that I think that is fantastic progress and engineering ... but non biker rule makers will never see anything but enforced regulation for a minority population that is considered using roads for habitual speeding. Incorrectly maybe but that's what may happen. There is too much money in cars industry (fossil or electric) to be as heavily impacted unfortunately.

Frankly I doubt this will ever become obligatory technology. Every single rich super car owner in any country affected by it will make sure of that. Many of them are paying those politicians wages directly or via "3rd" party.

How did the pile up happen? Driver behind did not pay attention, driver in car with one unit was overtaking at speed limit? I am not saying I like them but how did the above happen. If everybody does 60 on a 60 road there can be no accidents unless from opposite lane.

They did not even try to make it secure. I can make a car teleport from one place to another. I can altered departure time and time recorded which in turn alters average speeds. I can also altered sensitivity of gyro so doing head on at 100mph will be recorded as gently came to a halt. If tech is built in to car it will be harder but not impossible. Radio and ecu will have to be hacked (or one of the two) then job a good one.
