Unhappy M1000Sie engine

Hi Guys,
I got M1000Sie 2004 with one con rod seized on crankshaft. Now, 3 options for me:
1. would you recomend a garage or specialist that can turn/plane damaged crankshaft and supply new bearings? + put engin together
2. new crankshaft needed (ideally with con rods) got garage that will fit it for me as long as i supply crankshaft. they will get seals, bearings etc
3. complete engine swap - used m1000ds 992cc

I have been looking on ebay and other pages for a while now and it is bit difficult to find second hand crankshaft or complete engine for this model. same crankshaft was fitted in few different models like mulistrada or ss but it looks like there are not many parts for 992cc. i know bike is 15 yeras old but loads of parts for oldes monsters with smaller engines.
Weather is getting better now and i stuck with bike i cannot use... pls help

I think you might struggle to find a good M1000ds engine. I have an feeling that the S2R and Hyper engines have a different arrangement for the swinging arm bearings, but others will confirm.

For engine work I would only recommend one person. Carl Harrison at Harleston on the Norfolk Suffolk border.. A fairly long haul for you but worth it.

last time (ahem) i needed a crank, italian ebay was the answer, although it came with 900 rods, which are inferior to 1000 ones.

if you’re in luton, have a chat with dave woods (dwr) in aylesbury

s2r engine is the same, you will have swingarm bearing problems with hyper/multi engines, not sure about ss but i have a feeling it’d be ok

Yes, i have already checked and S2R and Multistrada 1000 engines don't fit.
I found some info about 1000SS and some people said is a straight swap as it is exactly same 992 engine as in M1000S (but i'm not 100% sure - would like some confirmations if poss)

Is it alot of work if i got S2R engine (as they are more common) and made some modifications to my existing bike? will my existing ECU and other components be compatible with new S2R engine?

Any comments would be very helpful.

throttle bodies are slightly different on s2r (auto choke/fast idle)
