Fitting a Powercommander3

Hi all, I have bought a used PC3 (716-410) to fit my S2R 1000 based bike, all seems pretty straight forward except for the TPS connection wire on the PC wiring, which seems to end in what appears to be a mini fuse holder with no apparent connector to link up with the bike's TPS. Has anybody experience of fitting PC's and knows what I need to make the connection. Thanks Bitza.

Hey up, I've got one on mine (and the original box, manual, CD and cables) I'll have a look tomorrow for you and see what I can find.

*edit* just been to the shed, PM me your email and I'll scan in the instructions and send them across tomorrow - mine are for an S2r800 but I'm presuming it should be similar.
It seems that I also have the PC111 CD, cables and a DP ECU in the box... I may have to have play later

I think the 'fuse holder' you're talking about is actually a Scotchlok connector.

I had a PCIII on my S2R 1000 - it was the same model as for the S2R 800 but was a different number from the one you've got.

Have a look at this diagram, which shows how the Scotchlok connector should be spliced into the TPS wiring.

Well, the disk works and there are a number of different maps already on the DVD database for Ducati, like M620, 748, 749, various other Monsters, 1098R, Hypermotard as well as Jap, German and American stuff !

Seems like I can now change lots of things on the S2R AFP, TPS... I think more research is needed.

The fuse holder type thing is cylindrical, with the grey wire from the PC loom screwed into one end with a blank cap fitted to the other end, but it doesn't match any standard electrical connector I've seen before. Bitza.

Post up a photo of the ‘connector’ and let’s see if anyone can identify it.

Of course there’s nothing stopping you from cutting it off and soldering the Power Commander lead into the TPS loom and heat shrinking it to keep the elements out.

Or if you want it more ‘factory’ you could even tap into the TPS loom and fit an AMP Super Seal connector as used elsewhere on Ducati’s- which is the way I’d go.

Sorry darkness lambing's been frantic the last five days. No the "Thing" is cylindrical with a screw cap at either end, one securing the grey wire and the other just a blank cap, looks a little like a message capsule for a pigeon, or address holder for a dog collar if that makes it any clearer? Well I guess I'll simply snip it off and connect the end on to the relevant tsp wire and see what happens. Bitza
