M1200

Here's my review of the new 2017 M1200. Of the boring bits, the fueling is the best for me - soooo smooth in touring mode. Doesn't feel like a lumpy V-twin.

Of the fun stuff, you need to turn the rider aids down but I love the concentrated power! All at once, like a turbo charged petrol car. Exhilarating!

I reckon my R has the best fuelling of any bike I've ridden, bloody marvellous!

Set up in sport mode permanently with the DTC at 1

Huge fun

I was really surprised - I tested the 2014 M1200 and it was really lumpy but this is so smooth! Just needs a decat pipe though!

Got an Arrow can and link pipe on mine, about £400, runs fine

Yeah, I looked at those recently - you mentioned it on another thread of mine. None of the existing pipes fit the 2017 monster yet though - found that out by buying a remus can. The bracket on the passenger foot peg is about 3-4 inches further back than the last model. I'm told the pipes for the R version don't fit either.

Performance Parts tell me akrapovic are thinking about it in the middle of June. Sc projects have told me they're bringing one out any day now. Remus have said watch this space.

Yeah, they're the ones I'm thinking of first. I emailed them on 10th May though and they said it'd be ready in a few weeks. No sign yet so I guess that's Italian weeks! With any luck, akrapovic will release one soon.

I've now fitted a termi. Looks amazing, sounds gorgeous but was surprisingly heavy - 4.5kgs vs 8kgs stock exhaust. Remus pipe is 2.3kgs.

DO NOT TAKE THE BAFFLES OUT!! Holy **** is it loud?! I'm doing a video comparison of baffles in/out but here's a video of the stock vs termi for now.

It's a year on would you still recommend this bike?
I am thinking of buying one so am doing as much research as possible.
