Problems with the website today
There appears to be a DNS issue which will likely take a few more hours to fully resolve (would the techies please excuse the pun) this is causing a kind of 'rolling outage'.
You can still access the site by removing www from the front of the URL eg http://ukmonster.co.uk/monster/ works but http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/ doesn't. This should have happened overnight without anyone other than insomniacs really noticing. My apologies of you've been affected by this. Before I get inundated with clever responses about putting this info on the troubled site, I'm sure word of mouth, (anti)social networking and sporadic access will help spread the good news. <insert smiley of your choice here> Last edited by slob; 23-03-2011 at 02:00 PM.. |

Come on Rob, stop slacking ..
You know you need to put the RJ45 cables back in the network switch in port M11/00 - S. Also replace the fibre optics cables between the server and switch ports, whilst changing the DNS routed/ Routing tables on the network server, Oh and don't forget to check if the cables are X-over or straight through. No longer needed are the shielded twist pair types.. As Computer Weekly said this week :- 'I want any unwarranted optimism back' please? There we go nerdy bit over for today.. Now I'll get my coat.. |

Thanks Slob,
Did notice it was down... The best bit about being a SysAdmin is when you consult some manual or help file to solve some nerdy problem and it advises you to 'consult your System Administrator' ... er so that would be me I guess?... |
