Quick can question - Monster 1200

I'm currently looking at all of the aftermarket options out there for a slip on. The last time I changed the factory can, I had to cut the system in order to fit the replacement part. Is that the same process with the Monster, or does the OE silencer separate from the rest of the system?

no cutting needed on the 1200, one bolt and off you go. SC Project is often well spoken of aside from the obvious Termi option

Quite enjoying my SC Project oval can on the 1200R ATM, I had Termis on the 821 and TBH with baffles/decibel killers out there is not a lot of difference. The nice thing with the SC is it has a Euro 4 stamp as it is Euro certified with the baffle in.

Quite fancying the SC Project GP Twin, though I prefer the price of the single exhausts.

Update: went for the SC Project duals in the end. Has anyone with a 1200 remapped with just a slip-on? Also, do people tend to run baffle in or out, and why?

I run mine baffle out, its the sound! Like thunder on the move!!!
As for mapping, I believe Dave Woods can re map on his rolling road, BSD of Peterborough can send the ecu off to Germany for a generic re map.

Do you mean, can the ecu be mapped by yourself, unfortunately no.
The bikes ecu has to be cracked and mapped by a specialist. I haven't remapped yet, the plan is to carry out a in the next couple of months.
I've had the opposite with Mr plod, generally they like the sound!

That wasn't quite what I meant, but does answer my question, cheers! I'll be interested to know how you get on with getting the remap done.
