Throwing a wobbler!
I've been meaning to get some of these extensions for some time and finally invested in this set from Machine Mart the other day:
https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/pro171/ They have a kind of universal joint that allows about 10° of movement of the socket; really useful for accessing bolts in tight spots. Having now had the opportunity to try them out, I can say they would be a handy addition to any toolbox. I can now get my torque wrench on the rear shock top bolt without removing the tank. Thoroughly recommended. |

They look really handy.
Just that little bit of flex where you need it most without any associated bulk. I'd be tempted myself, but .... Kind of unfortunately, I inherited some ancient, Snap-on kit from my Dad. Its probably 1940s stuff, but its still perfect today (despite many episodes of serious near-abuse over a lifetime or more). I say unfortunately cos it kinda precludes buying anything new, like these extensions. Though I'm not complaining. Its a fine balance, aint it ..... between accumulating adequate kit for your personal needs without filling the shed up with seldom used clutter. My ultrasonic cleaner probably falls into the latter category. And that's probably why its been on my kitchen worktop for best part of a year, awaiting a tidy storage slot somewhere. On the other hand, I dunno why I didn't buy a chain hoist years ago .. the most useful bit of new kit I've bought in years. |

Unfortunately not, Geoff. I had to give up work recently and received an unexpected windfall of some pay for unused holiday. So, I could have spent it on something sensible, like food, or...
Me too! Lots of King D!ck stuff, who I think are still in production (do they supply Triumph toolkits?). Mostly imperial so not much use on the Monster. I'll have to find an old British 'classic' to restore to get some use out of them. |
