Sorry, DD, I'd assumed that the change coincided with the switch from the Cagiva font to the current version when the factory would have recast the crankcases to include the new typeface and proper oil level lines.

I'd forgotten that some of the last 1998 916s would have had the modern graphics (and crankcases).

Nice clutch cover, by the way!
