What do you want from this Forum/Club

We post a thread like this periodically.

Please don’t comment on, criticise or refer to other posts, this should be brief and non-confrontational. We may delete posts that violate this ethos.

If you don’t want to put your head up publicly feel free to send me a Private Message.

If you’re a regular member/user/poster, you’ve probably had your day elsewhere, I want to hear from the silent 75%

Thanks in advance for your input

Ummmmm free stuff

Nah for me and what I want from a forum it’s perfect. I have been a member in two other forums (names and make/model/specialism not being named).

And both got fairly confrontational/clique/political. This forum is really fantastic at avoiding that.

I'm a veteran of many a car & bike forum, but a relative newbie on this site. Here's my two penneth:

I don't want to be bombarded with adverts. Tick.
I want the pages to load quickly. Tick.
I want access to vast and trustworthy knowledge about Monsters. Tick is an understatement!
I want information in searches to be easily, er, searchable. It's quite good, but I suspect that it could be better.
I don't want to have to contend with Olympic standard weapons grade knob heads. Tick (mostly lol).
I would like to participate in the occasional club event, should there be any I can get to.
I want to be member of a bonafide DOC. I'm not really sure if I currently am or not (a member that is)?!

If I had to be picky, yeah the look and feel of the place whiffs a bit of 1970s Corby (in other words, present day Corby), but I wouldn't want to change that at the expense of most of the things I mentioned above.

I am on a couple of other forums and find this one friendly and full of useful tips. It has knowledgeable members, there is a good dose of banter and its not overly moderated. That's what I want from a forum.

I would like to be able to post photos far more easily. I didn't think I was particularly behind with tech stuff like that, but I struggle with some of the picture loading on here. Hosting them on a 3rd party site is a bind for me. I've seen plenty of comments on that subject from many others too.
I like the grown up attitude of the site. The responses, feedback, purchases I've made and advice I've taken have been great. Not like some of the FB forums I'm a member of that are not as enjoyable. (Putting it diplomatically)
Otherwise, I've very much enjoyed this forum's attitude and style.

Oh and; how the chuffin 'eck can I edit my details to change where I live?

We’ve already spoken about this Rob, but to “get it on the table”, I think we need to reduce the number of regions. Presently it’s by county, we’d be better grouping several together to capture a bigger audience when posting events etc. I would suggest South East, South West, Wales, Midlands, the North, Scotland etc.

Grumpy and I run what is more or less an East Anglian section, under the banner of Norfolk, but we post up stuff in a lot of the adjacent Counties.
If the index were to be flexible and editable, then it could more concisely represent active sections and easily have new ones added.
At least the way it is, all the previous activity is archived.

Does 700 posts in 12 years make me a "regular" poster ??

I look on here quite regularly but don't feel the need to post on everything I see / read.

It's a great forum, loads of help and technical knowledge with the odd bit of ribbing thrown in, I don't really want much else (but then I am easily pleased !)
