696 Hi Batt warning

Hi all.
just getting my 696 back on the road for summer but when I start it the voltage is in the high 14's and when I rev it (at standstill) the dash and all lights stop working and a hi batt warning comes on
Any ideas before I spends £100 plus on a new reg/rec
Thanks Dingo

If it has been off the road then corrosion of earths and or corrosion of connectors (alternator to reg/rect) may be the cause. It is worth trying to clean all these up but my guess is that you have 2 chances that the regulator/rectifier is not toast - those chances can be labelled slim and none

I had EXACTLY the same problem on my 696 as you've described. Sorry for the bad news, but mine needed a new reg\rec.

Ducati did the work, I think it was about £150 all in. The bike was sweet after that though.
