Smile Ryders of Bristol

Does anyone have any experience of these people please?

It's my nearest Ducati Dealer - unless you can think of another one?

Just bought a S4RS from Riders of Bridgwater and know that it’s the same group. The sales team at Bridgewater were efficient and straight forward (not pushy and certainly no pushover but prepared to deal in a mature manner). I had a quick chat with one of the sales team in Bristol who was also of the same ilk. The test riding at Bridgwater was escorted and excellent for getting to know a bit of the characteristics of the bike in a short time (20 minutes or so). I cannot comment on servicing or support yet.

I know several peeps on the Ducatisti site that have used them for years and are more than happy with the servicing and sales side.

Just booked a 600 mile service today. They first of all offered me the week after next but when I explained that I wanted to take the bike to Ireland on Saturday they managed to get me a Friday pm slot - some evidence that they care about the customer.

They are good. They help the club and its sections in the area and help us with shows, bikes, bits, tools etc etc.

Last month they lent us the mobile display truck 3 new bikes, videos etc etc for the Italian show. We get invites to events and launches and they do a good job.

I did take my bike to Ryders yesterday for a fuel remapping and idel adjustment as it was too low.

After the bike came out of the garage and I parted with my hard earned £101 I went on my merry way.
Until Cheddar... why by my bike had started stalling whenever the clutch was in even overtaking.
If waiting at traffic lights, it just dies.
I called Ryder, but by that time in the afternoon they had all packed up and gone home.

They did say my clutch needed attention but was ok for now when I collected the bike.
However, now although the jerky ride around town seems to have disappeared, they have left me with a bike that is quite happy to cut out when ever it feels like it.

Seem quite friendly and mostly OK for parts. Possibly typical of todays retail market they don't stock 'generic' bearings... Why would I want to buy some in a Ducati box that are stock items from the same manufacturer?? OK I'll concede the boxes are nice LOL
Sales guys don't hassle or pressure.

Do you think a franchised dealer would sell replacement to OEM parts?

I can imagine Ducati would rap their knuckles if they did and then would it be covered by the warranty.

Its the same story for the headlight, you can only buy the complete headlight assembley which is over £100. Yet luckily we can get the glass via BMW spare suppliers for £25 including P&P. Why don't Ducati stock and supply just the glass.
