Birthday service done

Well that's a relief as the service is done and full MOT with a full service from Al @ Proteam Ducati. Picking her up on Saturday.

Never seen her as naked as this and still pure monster underneath in my opinion.

Cant wait for the new look oh and them Rizoma grips too.

Happy Birthday bike

I may get the rear frame carbon dipped over winter. Cheaper than £700 for the real thing. Needs a decent low zorsts too.

So we are off

Wow within a weekend of dropping panels in we are moving on to lacquer choice. After receiving my spare centres I took them along to the dippers only to find its an ex boyfriend of my eldest daughters. They both are still mates so no problem there other than I get a good deal. So talking to Paul we decide what I want and I never had to tell him about directional laying ie the brush lines to the front which gave me confidence. He has just finished carbon fibre coating on a Ferrari in interior trim and under bonnet and valances so his work is good. I told him no rush whenever at your speed and today he must have got the sample transfer because he mailed me the tester mould and now I have to decide on Lacquer.
I like the gloss but it looks false if you get me.
I like the matt too because it looks just like it should.
We could spray wet and get a satin finish.

He is doing the centres first to make sure I like and they should also look good in between the carbon and red panels too.
The only issue we have is that Brushed Aluminium only comes in 0.5m width and the seat cowel is 0.54 m wide edge to edge. We may be ok but if not it will have a split line which will be hard to see and if not a centre tricolor stripe.

This is Gloss lacquer

This is Matt laquer

If you can imagine it something like this you are not far away. It will have a vivid red air intake and an aluminium screen too. I may get a front mudguard done if it looks wrong with the carbon but will need rear too or lose that completely. I wont give up the original plastics in case I sell but this should keep me content and hopefully people will like it for themselves.

Yeah that's what were going for Al. I wont tell him No. I will ring him up as I need some decals made. I bought some Norton styli ones but a bit big and not keen. I am now think standard issue look in Matt black the DUCATI with the monster in Gloss red. The air intake is red with Gold carbon fibre he reckons will look good but that's to be discussed due to the colour of other carbon fibre I have.

I feel very happy now. Now I need some nice fasteners but not coloured other than black or silver. I saw some titanium ones £30 yeah right.

A glimpse of a centre panel sent to me today and fairing. Not sure how glossy to do it as yet but he is also spraying the Italian flag on seat cowl in a blowing flag.
Front tank infill

Fairing

Rear centre

Reminds me of Mac OSX 10.4 - the best looking of all Mac OS's, in my opinion.
