I’m sure you’ll have seen them. Very useful on both cars and bikes. Mityvac.

Agreed. One of the most useful tools I've bought as reported here:
http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/s...ad.php?t=58090

Note that for best results you may need to apply grease or PTFE tape to the bleed nipple to prevent air being drawn in when applying the vacuum.

If you only want it for bleeding purposes, don't bother with the MV8500 that Damien linked to - for about half the price, get the MV8000 instead e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225005951961

The differences between the two are that you can create both vacuum or pressure with the MV8500 but only vacuum with the MV8000. The MV8500 is metal while the MV8000 is plastic and the MV8500 comes with a carrying case, which the MV8000 does not.

Are you sure the slave isnt leaking? Mine leaked only a tiny bit which I could never spot until I noticed all the paint going funny and the chain getting rusty really fast. Nasty stuff! Same symptoms as you.

Fitted an Oberon and now it works well!

I'll check that, intend to take it off and have a good look this weekend.
There's been plenty of food for thought on this.
