Yes Darren thats what I thought its logical as the rubber goes inside it seals engine oil from coolant and the ceramic is against the spring

Thanks mate

That would be my guess too. I still have the Red Barons chapter bookmarked from when you were having problems taking apart the impeller a few months ago. I beat Luddite to the post, lol!

Hope the rebuild goes ok and that you will post your progress as you go?

It would be nice to see a detailed S4 rebuild thread for a change, instead of the usual M900 or custom ones, which have been very interesting but I think it's time to move on a bit. These are the next classic Monsters after all?

Im flying to Thailand next week ,, still got to finish cleaning engine crank cases and barrels and paint them , they did not need disassembling as the inside is still perfect ,, valve shims are all in spec as its copression ,,so its a hand jobby , the side covers are powder coated ,, the frame , wheels are powder coated in silver ,, the tank and seat cover is Ducati red fresh paint ,the rest of the body work is CF,, got most of the spares I need ,, I will be replacing all the JPT connectors and crank sensor as they were all crumbling from age and UV ,, but I still dont know why it would not run ,, I think it was the knackered connectors ,,to efi as it ran with starter fluid and petrol blasted into the inlets ,, fuel pump is ok but I have a spare ,,pressure regulator seems fine,, will be cleaning the injectors and putting in new seals,,

The Ohlins prc46 has been fully refurbished ,,and new swing arm bearings , wheel bearings and various other new bits will be fitted ,including steering damper , tail chop has been reversed as in Thailand not having a decent rear mudguard was really messy

I will be there for at least 4 weeks maybe 6 so should easily get it all together ,and it will look almost new and fully refreshed , will it run ??? hmmm

There's a lot of things that will stop these bikes running and most of them are electrical, they either work or they don't. No pesky carbs to have to fiddle about with too though!

Sorry, Jerry, I misunderstood.

I don't know the sizes I'm afraid but, if the injector is the green topped version, I think it's a Marelli IW724 so you could try an auto factor or an injector cleaner business.

I found this set at Gotham Cycles. You could maybe message them to ask for details.

Ducati only supply them as a sevice £75 no stock anyway but ridiculous price ,, asked 4 fuel injector firms but no one know the size for IWM 724 as they are not common type one guy does know the size but he wont tell me as he wants me to send the injector to him for full refurb hmmm ??? I will take the old ones off in Thailand ,I do have a kit of assorted Viton green orings but if its a weird size I may be able to get new ones there ,,
nothing is straightforward

That both amuses and annoys me, that he thinks he can generate business by witholding such information. You can buy bags of o rings of various sizes for a few quid so when you find the right size please start a thread with the info?

They're not hard to refurbish yourself if you can build some sort of test rig.
